charge your speaker
  1. plug one end of the usb cable into the usb port on the back of your speaker.
  2. plug the other end of the usb cable into a usb port on your computer or wall adapter (not included). the led indicator is red while charging, then turns off when the speaker is fully charged.

note: the speaker beeps continuously when the battery is low

connect an audio device
bluetooth
  1. Press and hold (power) to turn on your speaker. the led indicator flashes blue rapidly and your speaker automatically enters pairing mode.
  2. make sure your bluetooth device is within 33ft (10m) of your speaker.
  3. turn on your bluetooth device,turn on bluetooth,then enter pairing mode. For more information, see the documentation that came with your bluetooth device.
  4. On your bluetooth device, select insignia sonic. your speaker is paired with your bluetooth device and the led indicator turns solid blue.
  5. to disconnect, unpair your bluetooth device from your speaker. or
  6. press and hold (bluetooth) for two or three seconds on your speaker. your bluetooth device automatically loses connection.
3.5mm audio cable

Connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from the aux jack on your speaker to the audio out/headphone jack on your audio device.

connecting your speakers with tws

tws allows you to connect two sonic speakers to play the left and right channel audio separately.

  1. make sure your sonic speakers are close to each other.
  2. press (bluetooth) twice on each speaker within a minute. each speaker says “true wireless pairing” and pairs automatically.

notes:

  • if a sonic speaker is already connected to your bluetooth device, press (bluetooth) twice on this speaker. automatically pairs with the other.
  • if both speakers are in pairing mode, press (bluetooth) twice on either speaker. it pairs automatically.
  • after they are paired, the first speaker says “paired, connect to your device” and then the green led flashes slowly. the green led of the other speaker is on.

3. on your bluetooth device, select insignia sonic. once connected, the speakers say “left channel” and “right channel”. note: if they don’t pair, you may need to remove all flagship sonic speakers from your device and re-pair them.

4. press (power) twice. the speaker announces that it’s the left or right channel so you know which side to place the speaker on.

notes:

  • While tws is on, only the speakerphone that flashes green slowly can be used for phone calls. this speaker flashes blue/red/green when there is an active call.
  • tws function is not supported with auxiliary input.

using your speaker

The following features are available when paired with a bluetooth enabled phone:

  • Reject an incoming call: press and hold (play/pause/call).
  • Answer an incoming call: press (play /pause/call).
  • Switch audio between speakerphone and phoneduring a call, or switch between two calls: touch and hold (play / pause/call).
  • end current call: press (play/pause/call).
  • redial the last number dialed : press (play/pause/call) twice.
reconnect to a paired device
  • Make sure the last paired bluetooth device is near your speakers.
  • When your speaker is on, it automatically searches and tries to connect to the last paired device.
using your speakerphone
listen audio
  1. connect to your speaker with bluetooth or a 3.5mm audio cable.
  2. play audio on your connected device.
  3. press + or – to adjust the volume of your speaker. Note: Make sure the volume on your connected device is set to at least 50%.
  4. Use the controls on your connected device to control playback.
reset your speaker

To reset your speaker, use a paperclip to press reset.note: resetting your speaker removes all previous bluetooth devices from memory.

troubleshooting
no power
  • make sure your speaker is plugged in.
  • make sure your speaker is turned on. no sound or low volume
  • make sure your bluetooth device is on, bluetooth is on and badge sound is selected.
  • turn up the volume on your speaker.
  • turn up the volume on your bluetooth device.
  • make sure your bluetooth device is not muted.
  • make sure your speaker is not paired with another device bluetooth .
  • make sure your bluetooth device is not paired with another bluetooth device.
cannot establish bluetooth connection
  • Reduce the distance between your speaker and your bluetooth device.
  • Turn off your devices and then turn them on. re-pair your speaker and your bluetooth device.
  • make sure nothing is plugged into the aux jack.
  • make sure your speaker is not paired with another bluetooth device.
  • make sure your speaker and bluetooth device are both in pairing mode.
  • make sure your bluetooth device supports bluetooth v4.0 and below.
  • make sure your bluetooth device is not connected to any other device.
  • make sure you have selected sonic badge on your bluetooth device.
  • if there is a code access required, enter 0000.
my bluetooth device keeps disconnecting
  • Reduce the distance between your speaker and your bluetooth device.
  • If the battery of your bluetooth device is low, please recharge it.
“sonic badge” does not appear on my bluetooth device
  • Reduce the distance between your speaker and your bluetooth device.
  • Put your speaker into pairing mode, then update your list of bluetooth devices. for more information, see the documentation that came with your bluetooth device
sound is distorted
  • adjust the volume to ¼ or ½ level.
  • adjust the volume setting on the output device (computer or portable audio source).
  • make sure that all connections are correct and secure. can my speaker be connected to a tv, monitor or dvd player?
  • yes, if the device has a bluetooth or aux connection. can my speaker be connected to more than one device (3.5mm and bluetooth)?
  • no. only one sound source can be used at a time. mode priority is aux, then bluetooth. does my speaker work with smart home devices?
  • yes, your speaker works with any bluetooth device.
