How to Use NordVPN on PS4 & PS5: Simple Setup Guide [2022]

2. find your public ip address: your ip address uniquely identifies your internet connection and is provided by your isp. check your ip address here.
3. give nordvpn your ip address: you must provide nordvpn with your ip address so that it can whitelist you to use the smart dns service. do this by selecting “enable your ip address for smart dns” in your account profile. you will need to use an ipv4 address as nordvpn does not yet support ipv6 addresses.
4. on your ps4, go to settings: the icon looks like a toolbox.
5. select ‘network’ then ‘set up internet connection’.
6. choose ‘custom’ to personalize your connection.
7. enter connection details:
   • choose wifi or lan, depending on whether you have a wireless (wifi) or wired (lan) connection.
   • choose ‘auto’ for your ip address.
   • choose ‘do not specify’ for dhcp hostname.
   • choose ‘manual’ for dns settings.
   • set primary dns to 103.86.96.103.
   • set secondary dns to 103.86.99.103.

   The Smart DNS feature is useful for spoofing your location on game consoles, smart TVs, and streaming devices, but it won’t encrypt your data like a full VPN does.

   smart dns will not mask your real ip address, and all your internet activity remains visible to your isp and other third parties.
