MongoDB – PHP

To use mongodb with php, you need to use mongodb’s php driver. download controller from php controller download url. make sure you download the latest version of it. now unzip the file and put php_mongo.dll in your php extension directory (“ext” by default) and add the following line to your php.ini file −

make a connection and select a database

To make a connection, you must specify the name of the database; if the database doesn’t exist, mongodb creates it automatically.

To insert a document into mongodb, use the insert() method.

to select all the documents in the collection, the find() method is used.

To update a document, you must use the update() method.

delete a document

To remove a document, you must use the remove() method.

In the following example, we will remove the documents that have the title mongodb tutorial. the following is the code snippet to delete a document −

when the program is executed, it will produce the following output −

In the example above, the second parameter is of type boolean and is used for the only field of the remove() method.

the remaining mongodb methods findone(), save(), limit(), skip(), sort() etc. they work the same as explained above.
