Q: What information do you transmit sideways when you connect to anisette’s server? a: We use our server for anisette data only. this data is only transmitted if the “remote anisette” option is used in the advanced options of sideloadly. When you use anisette remote, here is the exhaustive list of information that our server can see: – your ip address – your operating system (win32, win64 or macos) – sideloaded version.
that’s it. We do not share this information with anyone and it is stored for a limited time for debugging purposes only. your apple id & the password is only sent to apple servers.
Q: How do I enable wi-fi sandboxing via sideloadly? a: To enable wi-fi sandboxing on your device, make sure your computer & ; ios device are connected to the same network. then you will need to initially connect your device via usb and follow these instructions depending on your operating system: windows: open itunes > connected device > abstract > options > enable the option “synchronize with this device over wi-fi” > sync and done. latest macos: browser > select your device under ‘locations’ > generals > enable the option “show this device when connected to wi-fi” > sync and done. earlier macos: open itunes > connected device > abstract > options > enable the option “synchronize with this device over wi-fi” > sync and done. In some cases, if Sideloadly does not detect your device wirelessly, you may need to open iTunes. you also need to have your device screen turned on for it to be detected.
Q: How do I enable the sideloading mail plugin on macos? a: Open the macos mail app, then open preferences. if you need to sign in to an email account, you can simply click the other option and provide random information to be able to access mail preferences. once in the general preferences window, at the bottom you will see the option “manage plugins“, click on it and check/enable the sideloadlyplugin.mailbundle and then do Click on apply and restart mail.
Q: How long will I be able to use the downloaded app? a: Normal & The free apple developer account only allows the app to work for 7 days. after 7 days you can upload it again with the same apple id, just make sure your progress is backed up. Apps signed with a paid apple developer account can last up to 1 year.
q: Developer mode is required. how do i enable developer mode on my ios device to download apps? a: since ios 16+, apple now requires users to enable “developer mode” on their devices to allow the transfer of apps & install apps outside ios app store. To enable developer mode, go to settings > privacy and privacy security on the ios device. scroll down to the developer mode list item and navigate to it and enable developer mode switching.
Q: How can I save or load my game progress? A: You need to make sure your game progress is synced on game center, facebook, twitter or google+. if the game saves your progress locally, you will need to install the ipa overwriting the one you already have installed. to overwrite the modified ipa must have the same package id and must use the same apple id when doing the local upload. see below for more information.
Q: Can I overwrite my current app without deleting it? A: Yes, it can. To achieve this, you need to load the ipa with the same apple id as your previously loaded app. if you previously manually set a custom bundle id, you must use the same id again.
Q: How many apps can I download? a: iOS 7, 8, 9: You can download as many apps as you want on your device. However, your free developer account has limitations, but you can easily bypass them by creating a new apple id. On iOS 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and above, you can only have 3 sideloading apps installed on your device at the same time. apple has limited this and will no longer allow free apple developer accounts. A paid apple developer account has no such limitations.
Q: Why can’t I restore Game Center game progress after trial installation? A: With the latest versions of iOS, Apple has prevented users with free accounts from from apple load apps that have the same package id as an app from the app store. To download the latest ios versions we are forced to set a unique package id and by doing so game center does not recognize the app therefore it will not ask you to restore your save.
q: sideways won’t show my device? a: if this happens, try restarting your pc, open itunes while your device is connected & be sure to tap ‘trust‘ on the popup on your device. then open laterally. If this doesn’t help, plug in your device and make sure it is recognized by your pc/itunes then open it sideways. you can also try completely uninstall then reinstall itunes. Also, make sure you are using the web version of iTunes.
Q: How do I trust the app? How do I fix the “untrusted developer” issue? a: To trust the app after downloading, you’ll need to go to settings -> general -> profiles/vpn & device management and once there, tap on the email you used to download and then trust it.

Q: What kind of .dylibs or .debs can I add to my ipa? the app fails to start after injecting dylib/deb/framework. a: all files in dylib/deb/framework are supported by sideloadly, however some of these files are made specifically for jailbreaking and will cause crashes when are downloaded to an app other than jailbroken devices. sideloadly will try to automatically update the injected files to support non-jailbroken devices, but it won’t always work 100% due to the way they’re made.
Q: Does it side support Apple Silicon M1/M2 Mac? A: Yes! Sideloadly has been updated to support Apple Silicon MacBooks, Mac Minis, and IMacs. when running sideloadly on an apple silicon device, it will detect and show the mac in the list of devices to install the .ipa. this has been tested by us in big sur, monterey & fortune.
Q: Does it work sideways on apple silicon m1/m2 mac with sip enabled? a: yes! sideloadly was tested & working with sip enabled mac mini. it is currently unclear if sip is disabled.
Q: Why am I not getting any permission error when I open my locally transferred m1/m2 ios app? a: This issue occurs if the ipa you downloaded locally was encrypted (downloaded via iTunes or directly from your device). To fix this, you need to download the unencrypted version of ipa.
Q: How can I use an app-specific password? a: App-specific passwords partially work on the side. The App Specific Password can only work if you are using a paid Apple Developer ID with the Anisette option disabled.
Can I make legitimate in-app purchases in transferred apps? Unfortunately, no. Apple prevents in-app purchases from working on stand-alone or company-installed apps. If you want to support developers, please install the original version from the app store and make in-app purchases there.

q: “sideloadly” wants access to control “system events”? a: this access is requested for sideloadly to be able to automatically start and close/minimize the macos mail application which is required for so that it is open when side loading. You can prohibit access to this application, but when doing so, you will need to ensure that the mail application is open when launched from the side.
q: The app/ipa downloaded successfully, but no app or icon appears on my home screen. A: If this happens to you, please restart your device as that usually helps .
